Kitchen Skills Courses
Four core levels build skills progressively, with optional elective courses for learners who want to explore further. All levels are designed with adult support and can be adapted to each learner's needs.
These course names are educational level designations, not professional qualifications, employment eligibility, or permission to cook without adult supervision.
Core Courses
Level 1: Kitchen Basics
2–6 weeks at learner pace. Six planned blocks. Begins with workspace safety and simple meals. No knife or heat required for completion.
Level 2: Apprentice
Builds on Basics. Proposed focus: measuring, short recipes, and one carefully selected appliance with direct adult supervision.
Level 3: Journeyman
Coordinating a main dish and side, building a shopping list, and comparing prices using practiced methods.
Level 4: Sous Chef
Planning a small menu, sharing tasks, and adapting familiar recipes with chosen supports and routines.
Optional Add-On Courses
These courses are completely optional and separate from the four core levels. They are planned for learners who want to explore outdoor cooking. Individual readiness and active adult supervision determine participation in each activity.
These titles are course names, not promises of professional qualification or certification.
